A progressive web app lives on the home screen, works when the network does not, and updates itself without a store review — one web codebase that behaves like an installed app on every device that opens it.
Done properly, that means a fast shell that loads instantly, data cached so the app still works offline, and sync that reconciles cleanly when the connection returns — the states a real app hits, designed rather than hoped for.
